Our Approach—The
Art of the Possible
Our clients come to us looking for guidance — they
may find themselves in the middle of some very knotty organizational
issues, struggling with human capital planning, working hard to
connect performance to organizational outcomes and measures, challenged
with performance problems, or seeking executive or board decision-making.
Our approach has matured through many years of experience. While
the problem solving-focused methodologies of executive information
analysis, socio-technical systems-driven business process reengineering,
and quality improvement still form the core of our process improvement
approaches, we have evolved to executing the tools with a “possibilities
foundation.” By using tenets of Appreciative
Inquiry and Social Constructionism, our clients push through
barriers and create faster, more lasting change.
Grounded in our client intimacy
model, we engage in the client’s business at a depth
that enables us to leverage the organization’s leaders.
We bring what so many others don’t—an ability to
focus on what’s possible, not what’s broken or what's
inhibiting performance. Our
approach to working with clients begins with understanding the
outcomes the individual, group, or organization hopes to achieve.
It moves people away from “my solution vs. your solution” to “how
are we going to achieve our common outcomes?” We co-create
solutions with our clients. This means that we bring the tools
and the processes and mine the organization’s rich knowledge
to develop business solutions that are implementable and sustainable.
We focus on the “Art of the Possible.” Possibilities,
Co-Creation, Whole-Systems… This shift in perspective keeps
the energy focused on the desired outcome, thereby allowing the
organization to accelerate change.
